Cool Bodies was one of the last Orphans songs, and was only played once in public, at the band's final gig at the legendary Hernando's Hideaway, Perth, 1978. The only recording of the song is a rough-as-guts cassette tape done during a rehearsal.
This is one of three tracks re-recorded by Orphans song-writer/guitarist Ross Buncle in 2005 using digital recording software. It is true in spirit and form to the Orphans' original version, and every effort has been made to retain an authentic live feel.
lyrics
COOL BODIES
Cool bodies
Float around inside my head
Cool bodies
Stare at me when I'm in bed
So tired, on and on the voices go
Tight-wired, chosen and I can't say no.
Oh I hear ya, yeah I hear ya, though I don't understand
Why you tell me what you tell me, I do as you command
Sinners in the market place
Sick boy overloading
I baptised them with lead
- I tried to save the world
