Cool Bodies was one of the last Orphans songs, and was only played once in public, at the band's final gig at the legendary Hernando's Hideaway, Perth, 1978 (not recorded). This is the only recording of the song as performed by The Orphans - a rough-as-guts cassette tape done during a rehearsal.
lyrics
COOL BODIES
Cool bodies
Float around inside my head
Cool bodies
Stare at me when I'm in bed
So tired, on and on the voices go
Tight-wired, chosen and I can't say no.
Oh I hear ya, yeah I hear ya, though I don't understand
Why you tell me what you tell me, I do as you command
Sinners in the market place
Sick boy overloading
I baptised them with lead
- I tried to save the world
